The health and safety of our employees is of paramount importance. Powertek has developed a strong safety program with full executive commitment. Our managers at all levels are engaged in this program and they lead by example.

To ensure that safety is at the forefront of our projects, we routinely communicate safety tips to our employees. Staff members are encouraged to report unsafe conditions or behaviors and to make safety suggestions. Our managers at various levels walk their areas looking for safety issues and discuss safety with our employees as an agenda item at scheduled project meetings.

We measure health and safety performance by tracking the number of cases where an accident results in an employee losing at least 3 days from work. We are proud of our safety record.

The chart below demonstrates how our lost workday injury rate is very low as a result of the proactive initiatives we have in place at our business units and project sites. As shown, Absence Cases per 100 Employees were: 2005 - 1; 2006 - .5; 2007 - .5; 2008 - 0.
